Second transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ DIGITRONICS project

The second transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ DIGITRONICS project was hosted by Interprofessionnelle Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (IPRA). It took place on Wednesday and Thursday, 30-31 March 2022 in Lyon, France. Though the meeting was conducted in a hybrid format for partners who could not physically travel to Lyon, this was the project partners’ first opportunity to meet physically since the beginning of the project.

The agenda included a multitude of topics such as project management; promotion and dissemination of project results; quality assurance and especially discussions about the different phases and intellectual outputs of the project:

  • Developing a competency framework for mechatronics trainers;

  • Developing and sharing a Trainer’s guide

  • Creating an E-learning course for trainers.

On Day 1, IPRA presented the conclusions of the international desk research report and the partners, based on their strong experience with teacher training, mechatronics disciplines and/or companies and industries utilizing mechatronics tools, discussed what exact competency framework will be set for the next steps of the project. They also discussed the guidelines and the modalities for the discussion groups whose feedback will be used to develop the Trainer’s Guide as well as the E-learning course.

The day ended with a guided tour of Lyon’s historic center and a dinner at Brasserie Georges, one of the most famous gastronomic landmarks of the city.

On day 2, partners looked to the next steps of the project, with an exchange about the trainer’s guide framework and further discussion about the project website and online learning platform. Partners also planned activities for promoting the project while also putting strategies in place to assure and evaluate the quality of project outputs.

Working in person allowed partners to reinforce links between them and to enjoy time together in a new city, while also being productive and ensuring the future success of the project.

The next step of the project is to organize discussion groups in order to ensure the relevance of the competency framework chosen by the partners. During these discussion groups, local and national mechatronics professionals (trainers, VET staff, employees, managers, heads of mechatronics SMEs) will be solicited.
