On April 20 and 21, the regional edition of the Skills Professional Training Contest in Mechatronics took place at our Institute, where 4 teams made up of 2 participants and their tutors carried out the tests proposed by us and the experts, which consisted of 3 challenges.
The first was a mechanical, electrical and pneumatic assembly of a manufacturing station, where they had to meet very specific standards, showing their technical and soft skills.
The second challenge was the assembly and communication of the first station with a new manufacturing station in order to carry out a complete simulated manufacturing process.
The third and last challenge was divided in 2 sections: the first section was the automation of the manufacturing process by programming a PLC following specific steps to carry out the manufacturing sequence, and the second section was the improvement of performance and energy savings of that manufacturing process.
We took the opportunity to present the Digitronics page to our colleagues from the different centers.
The winning team will represent Catalonia in the Spainskills, a national skills competition.
On April 28, the second Business Forum of the Narcís Xifra Institute took place at project partner, INX’s institute, where almost 40 companies came to our center to learn about the services we could offer. Among them, the Digitronics project was explained, showing the web page, and indicating the information and courses they can find.
Subsequently, the companies began to conduct interviews with our students and alumni of higher-level training cycles in the industrial branch, to be able to carry out their in-company internships for first-year students, or to be able to hire second-year students who finish in June , or former students who want to change jobs, since 100% of our students finish the training cycle with a job. This was a wonderful opportunity for professional development and training in mechatronics, all part of the DIGITRONICS project goals.
